Fabrice Bigot is the second artist to be selected for the Artist in Residence program at the Lyric Emerging Artist Gallery, an initiative by SMA Projects to support artist in the City of Yarra. Fabrice will be showing works from his newest series 'Flores Venerae', which builds on a previous body of work, 'Naked Garden'. The exhibition opens on Saturday, 29 April from 4-6pm and will be showing until 29 June.

The biennial Jindivick and Narkoojee Sculpture Show opens in Jindivick at 2.30 on Saturday May 13. Around 40 sculptures will be on display in the local hall and adjacent garden areas. Judge Simon Lawrie, McClelland"s Balnaves Curator of Australian Sculpture will be presenting awards and there will be plentiful (and free!) delicious nibbles, wine, tea and coffee available.

Simon Matthews, an uncultured but not insensitive adventurer, comes to the shop in pursuit of a particular volume at closing time. Just as Simon discovers that the book has been sold to his arch enemy, the landlord locks them both in the building for the night. Judges announced for prestigious Parkin Drawing Award

The judging panel consisting of recognised art practitioners, collectors, commentators and academics have been selected for 2017 Parkin Drawing Prize national competition. The prestigious award attracting a major prize of $20,000 was launched five years ago by Chris Parkin, arts patron, philanthropist and former owner of Museum Art Hotel in Wellington.
