Please join us for the opening of Brazen by Rachel Hannan: Saturday 3rd Nov | 2 "“ 4 pm. In this new body of work Hannan has been less attached to details and more interested in portraying the sense of a place, combined with memories and experiences Hannan has had by the time she lands in the studio. Some works have been made en plein air in Hannan's garden and nearby. Hannan's approach is loose and intuitive, energetic and vibrant. Juxtaposed with the assertive strokes and thick impasto are smaller more intimate areas and translucent layers where one can explore and rest in the more meditative sections of the works.

"Till we meet again, if not in this world, in the next." These are the heartbreaking last words of a Bendigo boy in a final letter to his mum before the young soldier was killed in action on the Western Front in WWI. If Not In This World, along with another new work by Bendigo-based composer Rohan Phillips, Meditations on der Krieg, will be performed by the acclaimed Arcko Symphonic Ensemble in two powerful and emotionally-charged concerts in Bendigo on Saturday 10 November and the following day in Melbourne on Sunday 11 November, the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.

Against the background of an art world whirling ever more rapidly around itself and propagating the absolutely newest trends in an almost weekly rhythm, only to praise tomorrow the grandness of something even newer, the slowness and tenacity that is inherent in Joerg Gelbke's work seems strangely anachronistic. @danielmarzona #danielmarzona #joerggelbke #berlinopenings #opening #exhibition #ausstellungen
Although influenced by Pop Art, with its bold, eye-catching images and impersonal approach, at the core of Ty Joseph's work is an intrinsic desire to express individuality, elegance, and social interactions by applying symbolic overtones. Working with vivid, distinct colors on large canvases, Ty infuses his sense of identity into each of his works with signature sweeps of L-shaped patterns. When viewed from a distance, these patterns create an illusion of unity that, up on closer inspection, reveal a much more complex, multi-faceted image, much like the idea of individuality itself.
