Chippendale World Art Residency 2017

The Chippendale World Art Residency provides artists with the opportunity to expand their creative horizons on an international level, as well as enabling their work to be seen by art world giants Professor Raphael Rubinstein, art critic and former editor of Art in America, and Anita Taylor, Dean of the Bath School of Design, two of this year"s notable judges. This year three successful applicants will be awarded a six week residency at the NG Art Creative Residency in Provence, Southern France. The set theme is landscape paintings which invoke a sense of place.

Haven"”The Boite Millennium Chorus

The Boîte Millennium Chorus will perform its 20th concert, "Haven", bringing songs from the Seychelles, Africa, East Timor, Chile, the Caribbean and Indigenous Australia to thousands of Melburnians. This year, the songs selected for the concert include works composed and sung in English, Mandinka, Tsonga, Seychellois, Spanish, Tetum and Indigenous Australian (Yolngu and Pitjantjatjara) languages. Each song relates to the theme of "Haven" through stories of seeking refuge and freedom, finding a home, falling in love, feeling safe, embracing change and nurturing hope.

'Afterlife' solo exhibition by Ian Kingsford-Smith

She is surrounded by her personal effects and the artifacts required for her journey into the afterlife. 19 framed aquatint etchings, titled "Scenes from daily life," line the gallery walls alluding to the ancient Egyptian practice of painting scenes from the life of the deceased onto the walls of their tomb.
