Blackrock: An Australian Classic for a 2019 Audience. In a time where it's become far too common to hear of another Woman Murdered in a public place and where Male fragility is so week a Gillette commercial about Toxic masculinity can grind some gears, Nick Enright's 1995 Blackrock is just as relevant as ever. Featuring a cast of Young Emerging Artists, including current Helpmann Nominee Luisa Scrofani.

@beavergalleries presents new #paintings by Crispin Akerman. Opening 6pm Thursday 20 June, runs until 7 July. His paintings explore their intimate nature in a non-specific location. The elements of this genre that Crispin finds so interesting are "the contemplative potential in it, the suggestion of the kinetic in the static, the metaphysical promise present in the very words, still life". The use of colour to achieve mood and harmony has been a particular focus in this exhibition.

Winners of the 2019 TAFE NSW Art Prize sponsored by Derivan Matisse were revealed at the art exhibition's opening at See Street Gallery on Friday 7 June. For the first time, Derivan has partnered with TAFE NSW to offer this art prize, supporting the next generation of emerging artists. More than 121 submissions were received from across NSW, with 61 works selected for exhibition and five prizes awarded to talented TAFE NSW students.
