Laurent's mixed media paintings, and calligraphy over thick hidden foundation reveal her interest in seeking a pictorial equivalent to the dynamic rhythms of Life in fast, energetic, broad brushstrokes and the peaceful, deep spiritual journey of her own search for the Divine in silenced colours.

About Titane Laurent

Born in Morocco in 1964, Titane grew up in Belgium. Truly a child of the world, she is a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident of Australia and now lives in Mauritius where she works and has based her studio. Titane left behind her corporate life in the marketing field when she was 31. She is now a contemporary artist painter as well as a Christian cartoonist and has been illustrating the Scripture since 1998. Titane is the creator of the God’s Stuff cartoon series, which has been featured in various publications around the world with a readership base well over 700 000.

Titane studied watercolor in Luxembourg, drawing and painting in Belgium and completed with distinction her Diploma of Illustration and Cartooning in New Zealand. Her art has been mainly influence by her interest in Taoist philosophy as well as her strong Christian faith.

She has exhibited and/or published her art and cartoons in Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Japan, USA, Brazil, Australia and Mauritius.
