Did you know, in 1919, Bridge Rd opened the doors of its first cinema...? A small screen that popped up at number 177. Since then, a lot has changed. Once recognised as a destination for fashion, Bridge Rd is now rapidly growing a reputation for fine food and international cuisine.

The HERE WE GROW Pop Up Cinema celebrates Bridge Rd's delicious 'foodie' culture by showcasing three great films, served up with some delicious 'wine and dine' offers for local restaurants. With the help of Bridge Rd Traders, Yarra City Council and PopUnion, the Richmond Town Hall will be transformed into a Pop Up Cinema for three Friday evenings in August. See you there - don't forget to bring your appetite!

The Trip

The Trip is a British comedy inspired by the award winning television series of the same name. Starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as fictionalised versions of themselves, the film sees the pair undertake a restaurant tour of northern England.

Chocolat is a romantic film based on the novel of the same name, authored by Joanne Harris. It tells the story of a young mother (played by Juliette Binoche) and her daughter as they arrive in a new town and open a small chocolatier. Her presence, and her chocolate, quickly begin to change the lives of the townspeople.

Big Night

Big Night tells the story of two Italian Brothers who immigrate to America in the 1950's and open a restaurant. One brother is a brilliant chef who seeks to show Americans "real Italian food", with the other brother stepping in as restaurant manager. Despite their delicious food and determination, their restaurant begins to fail... Struggling to survive, the pair try to attract the attention of the rich and famous to save their "American Dream".
