World Premiere of the full No Excuses! & Street Requiem at Melbourne International Singers Festival

The Melbourne International Singers Festival has a very proud history of featuring new contemporary Australian music and composers. We are following this tradition and will perform the extended version of two of the School of Hard Knocks original and ground-breaking social justice works - Street Requiem in memory of those who have died on our streets, conceived by Jonathon, and composed in collaboration with Kathleen and Director of Curriculum for the School of Hard Knocks, Andy Payne AND No Excuses! singing out against domestic violence composed by Dr Kathleen McGuire and Christina Green. Street Requiem
This concert series features the World Premiere of No Excuses! led by composers Kathleen McGuire and Christina Green and the No Excuses! Women's Chorus, singing out against family violence in the magnificent Melbourne Recital Centre on Sunday 12th June at 2pm....a performance not to be missed!! Supported by Divine Divas of Sunbury and Vox Harmony City of Launceston Choir.

We are delighted to be joined by our guests, Dr Jonathan Palant and the Credo Choir from USA, who will be singing in this inspiring performance of STREET REQUIEM, in memory of those who have died on the streets, at Melbourne Recital Centre on Sunday 12th June at 8pm. This moving performance will feature internationally acclaimed soloists, Liane Keegan, Jonathon Welch AM and Claire Patti, together with the 200 voice massed STREET REQUIEM chorus conducted by Dr Kathleen McGuire and Dr Jonathon Welch AM Supported by THECHO!R and Credo Choir (USA).
