The streets of Wollongong will be filled with colour this October long weekend when the fourth annual street art festival, Wonderwalls, launches their huge 2015 program with all events free to attend.

One of the largest street art festivals in Australia, Wonderwalls will see 15 large and small scale murals painted live across the Wollongong CBD, art exhibitions hosted by local galleries, Q&A discussions with artists and to kick it all off, an opening night party at Wollongong’s new pop up contemporary art space, Moving Mountains Gallery.

The 2015 program includes an incredible caliber of both local and international artists including Spain’s Felipe Pantone who combines conventional graffiti with typography and abstraction, and New Zealand artists BMD who travel the world painting large-scale surreal and jaw-dropping murals.

Local artists include Wollongong’s Bafcat who takes inspiration from the supernatural; Melbourne’s Dvate whose work can be seen across walls and magazines globally; and Sydney’s Georgia Hill, renowned for her incredible hand drawn typographic artworks.

For those wanting to gain an insight into street art from some of the best in the scene, the Q&A discussions will see artists discuss their work, delve into their various techniques and reflect on how painting walls has influenced their individual style.

The free talks will also feature videographer Selina Miles, whose multi-million viewed YouTube video SOFLES – LIMITLESS features Wonderwalls artist Sofles. Selina will discuss her practice and the recent projects she has worked on.
