Vendetta Films is thrilled to announce the heart-warming documentary Winter at Westbeth has been scheduled for a series of special event screenings this week at New Farm Cinemas (Brisbane) and Cinema Nova (Melbourne).

A Unicorn Films Production from celebrated Australian director Rohan Spong (All The Way Through Evening, T Is For Teacher) and producers Lizzette Atkins (Looking For Grace) and Adam Farrington Williams (All The Way Through Evening), this uplifting and life-affirming documentary has been filmed across one year in an extraordinary New York artist housing project known as Westbeth.

Over the year, video artist Edith Stephen (95) hopes to complete an experimental film for her birthday; dancer Dudley Williams (75) rehearses for an electrifying return to the stage; and published poet Ilsa Gilbert (82) faces her impending mortality with revealingly candid poetry.

As winter descends upon Westbeth, the long-term inhabitants of this unique community continue to draw meaning and vitality from many varied artistic outlets, inspiring both themselves and others in the process.

Documenting powerful statements shouted from rooftops, moving dance performances and the reasons for wearing green eyeshadow, Winter at Westbeth is an inspirational story about community, ageing and the power of creativity.
