Gillian Cosgriff

Gillian Cosgriff is hilarious, charming and always up for a challenge, but is also an incredible procrastinator. In a stroke of genius, two years ago, Gillian decided to challenge herself to write a song every week for 8 weeks. The result was such a success that she has turned “8 Songs In 8 Weeks” into an annual event. Last year's challenge led to the creation of her award-winning show "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things”. Next week’s performances will be the third incarnation of the challenge. Highlights include a song about a Madagascan reptile, the most offensive song she's written (Cosgriff’s claim) and a multitude of wild, and comedic creations.

The fruits of the last 8 weeks work shall be laid bare for audiences for two nights only. Cosgriff is a Green Room Award winner and her previous credits include appearances on Offspring, House Husbands and Fat Tony & Co. She has shared the stage with the likes of Lano And Woodley, Kate Miller-Heidke and David Collins (The Umbilical Brothers) This exclusive performance of new material promises the wit, comedy, beauty and melody that has made her a prominent name in the Melbourne Arts community. “A one woman tour-de-force of witty, brilliant, truthful comedy ” – Theatre People "the woman is as talented as Tim Minchin.” – SBS Comedy 'I may regret this...' - Gillian Cosgriff
