To celebrate his spate of festival appearances, Australian singer-songwriter William Crighton will release his new single 'Jesus Blues' off his highly acclaimed self-titled debut album. It is accompanied by a startling video that places the singer as an omnipotent suburban entity.
"It's a song about temptation and questioning everything" Crighton explains.

Director Pier Carthew says the music video is set “as an evangelical trip into hard-knock suburbia” that “shakes off the suppression of suburban life to reveal hidden dreams, nightmares and the sheer bizarre nature of ordinary people.”

William Crighton came away with accolades as a buzz artist at BIGSOUND and Australian Music Week this month, impressing a slew of delegates. He has just played spots at Mullum and Queenscliff Music Festivals and landed himself a spot at WOMADelaide in March 2017, as well as opportunities in the overseas markets.

Crighton has been traversing the continent, travelling to WA for Blues in the Bush and Wave Rock Weekender, amongst other festival spots on the East Coast, and playing to full rooms at his own shows. Alongside that, the captivating performer was featured as one of Australia's hottest rising stars in Rolling Stone in September this year.

“Crighton breathes fresh and strikingly vivid life into the umbrous bush of traditional Australian balladry." Rolling Stone

Crighton also embarks on a set of Summer tour dates including a visit to Tamworth Country Music Festival to play a special one-off show with Melody Pool in January. He’ll then join greats like Paul Kelly at the Riverboats Festival in Victoria in February.

“Original Australian voices should be celebrated and supported with all we have. Here is one to rally behind without reservation.” Rhythms Magazine
