WHITE PARACHUTE Exhibition by Lisa Sewards

BY Lisa Sewards | 05-Jun-2013
A beautiful and poignant memory from circa 1945 captures a childhood memory of the Artist's mother during the time she lived in a displaced persons camp. White ribbons were made for her hair from a parachute found abandoned in the woods, her symbols of comfort and hope. It will be told through works on paper, paintings, a silent looped film and an installation of a rare WW2 white silk parachute canopy.
