where the birds always sing... Ausin Tung Gallery 20th June – 29nd July 2012 Sherry McLane Alejos, Sam Fagan, Michaela Gleave, Sharon Goodwin, Matthew Greaves, Natalie Ryan, Rohan Schwartz, Hanna Tai, Nic Tammens, Cyrus Tang and Brie Trenerry. Curated by Theodore Wohng.

Eleven young Australian artists celebrate the poetically ephemeral nature of our existence through video, photography, sculpture and drawing. "There is a secret hidden within all of us, a gift which was never ours to give or to take, through the journey of acceptance, one’s individuation and irreplaceability are conferred. By imagining the eventual irreproducibility, we constitute within existence itself, the aporia of the impossible.

It is being’s poetry with a music signature of your most unreadable self, written in a language where the signified becomes the signifier. Therefore each experience is unique, as it separates temporality and time, one confronts absolute singularity of the self.

To discover the hidden message in this exhibition is to mirror dasein’s ontological transcendence; awaiting oneself, waiting for the arrivant, waiting for each other at the disjuncture of time." - Theodore Wohng
