Some 400 guests dining alfresco at a long table spanning the length of Pier 2 at Walsh Bay in the shadow of Sydney Harbour Bridge. 5 leading chefs of the Walsh Bay Arts & Dining hub each create a course for the degustation, teamed with a cool climate wine from The NSW Southern Highlands Food and Wine Clusters with winemakers joining the table. Host, The Song Company will treat guests to rare pop-up performances by their elite ensemble. Proceeds will enable Song Company to continue nurturing young talent.

If Music Be The Food of Love

Five restaurants of Sydney’s arts and dining hub have come together to create a stand-out culinary experience, along with the winemakers of The Southern Highlands Food and Wine Clusters for a stellar Walsh Bay Arts Table Dinner, 2016

Sydney’s most memorable arts industry event - dining alfresco, under star-lit skies in the shadow of The Sydney Harbour Bridge - The Walsh Bay Arts Table Dinner has raised the bar this November to deliver a destination experience like no other. Seated at long tables spanning the length of Pier 2/3 apron, right on Sydney Harbour, guests will feast on a five course degustation prepared by five creative chefs from the Walsh Bay precinct, matched with wines sourced from the new Southern Highlands Food and Wine Clusters. Captivating pop-up performances are planned by this year’s event host, The Song Company, directed by Anthony Pitts. Themed “If Music Be The Food of Love” the experience revolves around a decadent, long- table feast representative of the culinary diversity of the Walsh Bay dining precinct. An exciting five course degustation combines the creative expertise of five stand-out chefs from Walsh Bay venues including Pier One Sydney Harbour, View by Sydney, Simmer on the Bay, Sydney Dance Lounge and Walsh Bay Kitchen.

In a first for this year’s event, each chef has selected a stand-out wine to complement their signature style from among the exciting new Food and Wine Clusters of The NSW Southern Highlands. Many of the winemakers showcased will join the table on the night. Partnering passionate producers with such talented chefs to deliver a more rewarding experience of food source is a real taste of what the clusters movement is all about. “ Insisting on the best quality fresh ingredients from stand-out producers is a foundation that sets these chefs apart,” said Brigid Kennedy from event organisers Walsh Bay Arts & Commerce “To experience the signature style of so many stellar chefs in the company of the growers and artists showcased and at a money-can’t-buy location, is all part of the magic unique to The Arts Table Dinner at Walsh Bay.”

Wines of the Southern Highlands Food and Wine Clusters featured at the dinner will include a 2015 Tractorless Vineyard Pinot Gris, Bendooley Estate 2014 Riesling , Artemis Wines 2015 Pinot Noir, Mount Ashby Shiraz and Joadja Estate Autumn Botrytis Sauvignon Blanc. Now in its 7th year thanks to the generous participation of Sydney’s most impressive harbourside dining venues toward the vision of Walsh Bay Arts and Commerce, The Arts Table Dinner is firmly established as the harbour city’s benchmark fundraising initiative in support of iconic Australian arts companies.

The host of this year’s Arts Table Dinner , The Song Company is Australia’s premier acapella ensemble. Unrivalled for its stylistic diversity, the company’s repertoire covers vocal music from the 10th Century to contemporary works including collaborations with celebrated artists and composers from around the world.

Arts Table guests are in for a rare treat with unique and extraordinary vocalisations by the elite a capella ensemble, directed by the award-winning British composer and conductor, Antony Pitts.

Guests have the opportunity to take home original artworks, premium wine selections, travel and indulgence prizes from the evening’s raffle, well supported by independent Sydney galleries, artists and prestige travel specialists.

Additional contributions to the 2016 Walsh Bay Arts Table destination dining experience have been made by artisan bakers Sonoma, all contributing to an unforgettable evening of arts, food and wine appreciation.
