Unpathed Theatre Company presents Nicholas Kazan's Blood Moon

Known for his strong psychological dramas, Kazan’s play Blood Moon is no exception! Blood Moon, which is based on a true story, tells the tale of power, rape, revenge and something much worse. Directed by Australian television and stage actor, Christopher Stollery, Blood Moon will open on Thursday 7th February, at Darlinghurst’s Tap Gallery www.unpathed.com.au. Blood Moon is the story of Manya, a 19 year old student visiting her uncle Gregory as he takes her on a fairy-tale tour through the city. Their last stop is at the strange apartment of Gregory’s suave and charismatic friend Alan. Alan and Manya match wits as the night goes on, but when Gregory leaves, secrets are revealed - and claws come out.

A year later, Manya invites the two men to her apartment for an exquisite meal and a night they won't forget! Blood Moon will be the debut of Unpathed Theatre Company, a new independent Sydney company established in 2012, which is dedicated to creating theatre to connect with the community and other artists. Inspired by writing that exposes truths and the human condition, Unpathed’s first production, Blood Moon, written by Nicholas Kazan, is the perfect example of that. "Not wanting to give anything away, the play deals with an issue that - sadly - seems as relevant today as it did 30 years ago. In 80mins three characters take an extreme journey in just two scenes - so densely and elegantly plotted with dialogue that cuts and thrusts like a knife fight.

The script is brilliantly written and it’s surprising that this is its first performance on an Australian stage– Christopher Stollery, Blood Moon director.
