There is a wealth of geological material within the world heritage area of Blue Mountains, NSW and its surrounds to study and contemplate for artistic purpose. Using its geology as inspiration and source material, independent curator Miriam Williamson invited four local and recognised contemporary artists - Vicky Browne, Simon Reece, Peachey and Mosig - to respond to their home region for a new exhibition at the National Parks and Wildlife Service Heritage Centre. The artists have each tapped into current and cultural discussions including mining of resources, environmental systems, human impact and the history of fossicking and collections of minerals across ceramics, photography, collage, moving image and mixed media.

The group exhibition is hosted by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service at its Heritage Centre, Govetts Leap, Blackheath and is in association with the Australian Fossils and Minerals Museum, Bathurst. Selected works for sale. On show from 6 February to 29 April. Open daily 9:00am -4.30pm. Free Entry.
