Two Steps on the Water announce debut Album release with new single 'A Little Scared' + East Coast Tour Dates!

Melbourne-based emotion punk/heavy folk trio Two Steps on the Water are set to release their much anticipated Debut LP God Forbid Anyone Look Me in the Eye independently on Friday, July 29th, along with latest single "A Little Bit Scared" and the announcement of East Coast Tour dates kicking off in their hometown on August 19th at The Tote.
"To call Wednesday night's performance truly special would be an understatement. Enter Two Steps on the Water "“ one of Melbourne's most beautifully engaging up-and-coming bands. " "“ Ripe

"In Melbourne these days you can't go anywhere without someone vouching for the supremacy of Two Steps on the Water, which is as it should be" "“ Strine Whine

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Simon Grounds (Gold Class and Little Desert) in the first half of 2016. Simon's experience with weird folk and post punk comes through on God Forbid, whose production is largely natural, sparse, visceral and textural, while making room for some instrumentation that wouldn't be found at a typical Two Steps on the Water show.

Equal parts anxious and sentimental, 'A Little Bit Scared' is a song about vulnerability, recognition, and navigating romance and sexuality as a gay trans gal. It is the second single off Two Steps on the Water's debut album, God Forbid Anyone Look Me in the Eye.

Two Steps on the Water's music is tragic and furious, heavy and soft, whispered and screamed. Lyrically, the band's songs deal primarily with singer/guitarist June Jones' experience as a trans woman with PTSD, while instrumentally, Jones's nylon string guitar, Sienna Thornton's soaring violin and Jonathan Nash's restrained yet powerful drumming place the band somewhere inside a folk music context. Since their conception in late 2014 they have been consistently playing shows, breaking strings, and writing and recording sad and angry music.
