Three Lessons of Darkness
Experience the most beautiful vocal works of the Baroque period. Be transported to the theatrical Tenebrae mass of the Paris convent of Longchamp, and delight in François Couperin’s enthralling and mysterious Leçons de ténèbres (Lessons of Darkness), a surprisingly sensual piece, written for Holy Week in 1714. These alluring works are considered among the most beautiful vocal works of the Baroque period. Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & Ensemble Ancien
