Thinking Without Words by Tim Laffey
Black Eye Gallery is pleased to present Tim Laffey’s solo exhibition To Think Without Words from 24 March to 5 April 2015.
Autumn in the Mountains. Tim Laffey.
To Think Without Words is both impressionist and spiritual in nature, with a search to transcend the image as a photo into something broader, an exploration of light and atmosphere. It becomes not just a topographical representation but also an embrace of the joy and beauty of light, it is to think without words and unlock the images that live within.
Tim’s primary influence has been that of the painters, he looks in wonder at their complete understanding of light and shade, as well as their observations on how light plays in our visible world.
Tim Laffey has spent over 25 years as an award-winning cinematographer, working mostly with film, and as his life has progressed, so did his work, as well as the passion that has lead him to developing his own style in still photography.
