Thinking of Place - a collaborative printmaking project

Thinking of Place consists of 60 works by 4 Australian and New Zealand-based printmaking groups, to be exhibited in Cairns, Christchurch, Auckland and Ballarat. Works are by Inkmasters Cairns Inc, Te Wai Pounamu (South Island) Printmakers, North Island Printmakers, Goldfields Printmakers and Melbourne Printmakers Group.

The Thinking of Place collection original prints (stage 1) opens at KickArts Contemporary Arts, Cairns, on 08 June and continues to 18 July 2015.

The works will be exhibited at Eastside Gallery, Christchurch, 29 June to 18 July 2015.

The Auckland exhibition opens at The Depot Artspace 29 Aug and continues to 18 Sept 2015.

Stage 2 at KickArts Contemporary Arts, Cairns, opens 11 Jan and closes 20 Feb 2016.

The final showing will be at Post Office Gallery, Federation University, Ballarat in April 2016.

Artists have interpreted the theme with concepts of land, country, the environment, colonisation, ancestral connections, identity in association with geography, and imagined places.
