15 Minutes from Anywhere have developed their own unique, take on the work, condensing its 400 pages into 70 action-packed minutes in a thrilling, prescient tale of war, passion and boat arrivals performed by just two actors and a narrator.

Actors Keith Brockett and John Marc Desengano between them play over 20 characters with the mercurial virtuosity of a pair of shape shifters. According to director Beng Oh, “using two actors for a canvas this vast is part of the joy of the piece.”

Oh discovered the novel a number of years ago and was immediately drawn to the fact that despite being “an artifact of another time, in many ways the novel’s preoccupations are still ours today. We still fear invasion and ‘the other’.”

Writer Jane Miller joined the project earlier this year and developed the text in close collaboration with the director and the actors. Actor Andrea McCannon also came on board recently as the narrator.

This is the fifth production in three years from 15 Minutes from Anywhere, the artistic collaboration between Oh and Miller, and follows productions of True Love Travels on a Gravel Road, Mein Kampf, Motherf###er and Cuckoo.

Featuring a huge cast of characters, exciting set pieces, a vast array of accents and just 3 actors, The Yellow Wave promises to be an invasion like no other!
