The Tommyhawks have just finished recording their third EP This is Not a Desert Island and they are preparing to take it around the country in September. #thetommyhawks @thetommyhawks
The Tommyhawks have spent much of the last few years touring Australia in a shitty little transit van. Four girls sleeping in one bed, surrounded by guitars, drums, saxophone and knickers. But now they have finally struck gold! In support of recent single ‘Bedroom’ The Tommyhawks upgraded and completed their first tour in a Winnebago. After three years of coveting the grey nomads in their flash motorhomes as they drove up and down, and up and down, and up and down the Hume Highway they finally hit the big time and followed their dreams right into a van with not one, not two, but three beds and a toilet.

This is not a Desert Island explores the idea of trying to control ones own state of mind, and mental health... and often failing, as well as focusing on trying to grow up and figure out who we are and who we want to be. While second single from the EP, ’Summertime’ is about the process of coming out of a dark place or depression and finding peace within.

In the three years since The Tommyhawks formed, they have played over 20 festivals across the country, released two EP’s, 2015’s We’re All Meat and We’re Gonna Get Eat and Hurling Stones and Sticks in 2016. Track ‘Hollow’ was nominated for the West Australian Music Awards’ Song of The Year 2016, and the anthemic ‘New Friends’ will be featured in the new Ben Elton feature film Three Summers.

Renowned for their mesmerising and cockle-warming live performance this fierce femme- fatale foursome explode with quirky, dramatic, trippy and heartfelt songs. Be prepared to come away with a full heart and a big crush.
