The Royce Twins are ready to FLY

BY Peter Bowman | 12-Nov-2015
The Royce Twins have been waiting for Summer 2015 in Australia to launch their third original track from their self titled Debut EP called FLY. The song has already caught itself some attention at The International Songwriting Competition. This competition recognises less than a handful of Australian Artists, and in the same year that Vance Joy took out the grand prize, The Royce Twins song FLY made it to the semi-finals in the most hotly contested Top40/Pop category. @theroycetwins #theroycetwins @roycetwins
“We wanted a song on our EP that you could crank on the radio, while you’re driving down to the beach. It’s as simple as that,” said Gabriel.

“I also wanted a song that could rip a descent electric guitar solo in. You don’t hear descent efforts these days and I wanted to bring it back for summer,” said Michael.

FLY can be described as a rock self empowerment anthem about coming together and following your dreams that also hits the mark in also bringing back the power guitar solo to today’s radio. Like all the tracks on their self-titled debut release, FLY features what are now recognised as The Royce Twins trademark harmonies by their followers.

The Royce Twins, Gabriel and Michael Saalfield, emerged from Mount Beauty and have been playing and singing music for as long as they can remember. Gabriel plays the acoustic guitar, drums and saxophone. Michael plays the acoustic and electric guitar. Both sing. Both song write. The Royce Twins music combines influences of rock, pop and country.

The Royce Twins from Victoria’s high country are still country boys at heart. Humble with great harmonies.

FLY is available on iTunes, Apple Music, GooglePlay and Spotify and on The Royce Twins EP through Waterfront Records/MGM.
