Summer's a-comin', and so are Melbourne's Girlgroup power-force The Rebelles, celebrating the return of the sun to our skies with a series of killer shows and a brand new single and video: Down By The Rollercoaster. In time-honoured Girlgroup tradition, Down By The Rollercoaster takes a playground chant and kicks it all the way to rock 'n' roll heaven"”a short, fast ride that's gonna have you a-shimmyin' and a-shakin' all over.

The Rebelles will be taking it live and local with high-energy shows in Melbourne's west and east, as well as jumping in the Rebellemobile for a trip to our own Motor City, Geelong, where they'll be supported by the soulful and sassy Sweethearts. To rev up the Rollercoaster release The Rebelles have handpicked three sensational local support acts: Sweethearts (Geelong), the joyous 50-strong sing squad Pitchface for Yarraville, and the piano-pounding man who could take on the mighty Jerry Lee at his own game, Ezra Lee and his amazing band for the finale show at The Caravan Club.

About The Rebelles

With spades of punk panache, killer harmonies and catchy tunes galore, The Rebelles have served up a wall of Girlgroup greatness for more than 12 years. Backed by a blistering four-piece rock 'n' roll band, the 15 wondrous women blast girl-group classics from the '50s and '60s into the 21st century with songs, video clips, and live shows to rival the best. They've sung murder ballads with Dan Sultan at the Reclink Community Cup, serenaded tens of thousands at Melbourne's very first White Night, and wowed audiences everywhere they play. Their first record, The Clapping Song (2013), captured the excitement of their live shows on 7" red vinyl, with a video that's clocked up more than 400K hits. Go! Rebelle! (2015) was the band's first full length album, featuring 14 original songs that took the time-honoured themes of cars, boys, love and heartbreak, and pushed them a step further with a sound huge enough to match The Rebelles' big voices and even bigger hearts.
