THE BLIND DATE PROJECT

Published by: adelaide festival centre | 2-Jun-2021
Desperate and looking for love, Anna (AFI award-winner, Bojana Novakovic) is a woman at a karaoke bar waiting for a date she matched with online.
Each night, her date is a different guest performer, unknown to her until the moment of performance. There is no script. All dialogue is created on the spot by the performers. Directions are sent by the director, via phone. This is an untethered night of theatre where anything can”and does”happen. No two shows are ever the same. The Blind Date Project is not just an improvisational experiment, it's a real, risky, and preposterous exploration of humanity's deepest craving for human connection.

Guests are always a surprise and have included Margot Robbie, Joel Edgerton, Laverne Cox and many more.

After sold-out runs in New York City, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Los Angeles and Cincinnati, The Blind Date Project comes to the Adelaide Cabaret Festival for evenings bubbling with humour, candour and connection.

Created by Bojana Novakovic and Mark Winter
Devised with Thomas Henning and Tanya Goldberg
Performed by Bojana Novakovic and a different guest every night
with Lucy Moir as the Karaoke Queen
Directed by Tanya Goldberg
Produced by Andrew Carlberg and Bojana Novakovic
