Sydney Film School invites senior high school students to experience the creative filmmaking process first-hand at the School's Digital Filmmaking Distinction Course, taking place this school holidays from July 11th to 15th.
During the intensive five-day course, students will be guided by industry experts as they work in teams to produce a short film. Participants will be involved in all aspects of the film's development, from pitching ideas, to the editing room, including hands on tutorials with professional equipment, offering an incredible overview of the filmmaking process.
Sydney Film School artistic director Ben Ferris said "Australia has so many talented young people, and I continue to be impressed by the creative talent that we see come through our doors. Our digital distinction course offers a great opportunity for young people to build on this creativity, hone their skills, and gain a broad understanding of the world of film; all at a time when they are considering future career prospects".
Sydney Film School is internationally recognised for its focus on story-telling and comprehensive hands-on training. With an exceptionally high rate of graduate employment, the School has produced a broad range of screen industry talent including directors Gracie Otto (The Last Impresario), Maya Newell (Gayby Baby), visual effects editor Dave Quinn (Mad Max: Fury Road) and producer/director assistant Ana Jimenez (The Rocket).
