Svetlana - A comedy cabaret
A model from London, a divorcee from Brooklyn, a Safari tour guide from Cape Town and a Russian with no safe word walk into a bar. Emma Algeri morphs between 5 international characters until she takes her ultimate form, Svetlana. All in a bid to win a bartender's..uh..heart. Featuring original music and live improvisation by Isaac Mouskovias and Emma Algeri.

Emma is a naïve nobody, whose borderline psychotic tendencies go unnoticed in the underground bar, The Poison Apple. Upon ordering a drink from the attractive bartender, Emma spirals into an obsession with him. He rejects her initial advances which leads to a messy escapade of wigs and accents. She pretends to be a new woman every night, hoping the bartender will fall for one of her foreign identities. Her futile attempts to pursue the bartender are tragically funny and highly concerning.
Svetlana is set to debut on February 10th at The Butterfly Club, a quirky and intimate theatre in the heart of Melbourne. 100% of the profits from opening night will be donated to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
