Melbourne-based artisan studio and gallery, Mosaic Republic, has teamed up with the Australian National Stroke Foundation to host an online community art project ‘Stroke Alt Delete’. The project kicked off in January 2012 when an online call-out was made for suggestions for a subject. Thanks to the fabulous creative energy of the online community, some truly awesome ideas were received: World Music Theme Australia in Sections (outback, rainforest, ocean, etc.) Garden in Perspective Best Graffiti Colours of Australia Iconic Australian landmarks Skyline at Dusk Two Hands Clasped Together Now Mosaic Republic and the National Stroke Foundation are calling on the online community to vote! The winning subject will then be transformed into a mosaic artwork.

The completed artwork will be auctioned at the ‘Food For Thought’ gala ball in Sydney, in October 2012. All proceeds will go directly to the National Stroke Foundation of Australia. You can vote on your favourite subject by visiting www.mosaicrepublic.com.au. Once voting has finished and work on the artwork has commenced, the public will be asked to donate materials. Call outs will be made via Mosaic Republic’s Facebook page. www.facebook.com/MosaicRepublic
