Published by: Sacha@ Published Art | 14-Feb-2016
Focusing on her current exhibition Soaring - The Golden Eagle Festival of Mongolia, Sophie Howarth will share some stories and thoughts around her exhibition now showing Published Art. The old Kazakh tradition of horseback eagle falconry is celebrated each October in the Bayan-Olgii Province in far western Mongolia at The Golden Eagle Festival. This makes for a spellbinding exhibition. Getting there, being there and the call to adventure however is a mixture of magic and madness. Sophie will take you on a journey with images to illustrate: Love to travel. Travel to Live. From the women's dormitory at Moscow railway station to Ulaanbaatar on the Trans Siberian to spending time with Kazakh families in the remote countryside of Mongolia and the spellbinding sights at the eagle festival you will enjoy this adventure. Kelly-Ann Denton, Visual Language Specialist, will join Sophie to talk about how she curated Soaring-The Golden Eagle Festival of Mongolia exhibition. The process of transforming Sophie's project idea and images into a visually articulate show.
