Seadrift is hosting a pop-up bar at this year's Sydney Writers' Festival (26 April “ 2 May, 2021), offering festival-goers a delicious alcohol-free beverage that tastes just like the real thing as they relax between sessions.

Seadrift co-founder Carolyn Whiteley says, We are thrilled to be able to showcase Seadrift at the Sydney Writers' Festival as we believe it's the perfect spirit to drink when you're relaxing with a good book.

With mindful drinking on the rise in Australia, Seadrift supports those looking to cut back their alcohol intake with a sophisticated alternative. It's the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Alastair and Carolyn Whiteley, who wanted to change the way adults drink, allowing people to step back from alcohol for a round, a day, a month or permanently.

Seadrift began as an experiment with seaweed foraged from Sydney's Northern Beaches two years ago and has grown into a unique distillation process that captures the essence of the fresh sea air and local herbs in an adult-tasting, non-alcoholic spirit. It uses the umami notes of seaweed to mimic the depth and warmth of alcohol.

Seadrift is produced in small batches to ensure the freshness of the product is maintained throughout the traditional distilling process. It's a true craft process that celebrates its origins on Sydney's Northern Beaches, making it the perfect partner to a well-crafted story. Visit our pop-up bar and try it for yourself at this year's Sydney Writers' Festival, says Alastair.
