NSW’s beloved East Coast Film Festival, Screenwave International Film Festival (SWIFF), is thrilled to return with a massive line up of international films from 21st April to 6th May, 2022, including the launch of a brand-new live multi-arts and music Festival, STORYLAND.

Described as a playground for grown-ups, the all-new STORYLAND adds an exciting new live music and arts component to SWIFF’s extensive 16-day film festival program. STORYLAND’s one-day live music line-up will be headlined by ARIA Award-winning and Grammy-nominated songwriter Courtney Barnett, alongside twice Grammy-nominated jazz funk band Haitus Kaiyote and Melbourne’s local dreamy pop artist Hachiku. STORYLAND will harness the same creative energy as SWIFF’s film program, showcasing live music acts that bring originality, creativity, diversity, and otherness into their performances.

Alongside STORYLAND, SWIFF will return in spectacular form, offering a line-up of over 80 new Australian and World Cinema titles, with the full program to be announced in March 2022. International Australian screen icon and the “flagship of the Australian film industry” Jack Thompson OAM will return as the Festival Patron.

STORYLAND will be a full day and night event on Saturday 23 April at Coffs Harbour’s Park Beach Reserve – on the iconic waterfront of the beachside community. Under direction from prolific First Nations Creative Directors Zakpage, SWIFF are collaborating with a collective of local artists to create a provocative immersive installation series, and a signature ‘cinematic backbone’ of performative storytelling that will tell the inaugural story of STORYLAND.

First release film passes will be available to purchase until 30th November 2021. The first 250 STORYLAND tickets will be offered for a reduced price. For SWIFF’22 Presale Film Passes and STORYLAND tickets, visit www.swiff.com.au.
