ROLES PRESENTS FIRST OFFERING WITH 'EMPTY ROOM' SINGLE RELEASE AND VIDEO LAUNCH

Post-punk duo Roles are set to release their debut album 'There's A Space' in mid 2020. The album's first single 'Empty Room' is mixed and mastered by Mikey Young and is a perfect example of how the pair balance a minimal sound with sweeping feeling. The single premiered online today and they shall be celebrating with a single & video launch on 22 February.

Roles are an independent duo based in Melbourne Australia. Their sound is built around synth bass, drum machine sounds, 3-stringed guitar and lyrics of found ideas and stories. The duo consists of songwriter and producer Louise Love, and her collaborator Luis Gutiérrez. Their debut album There's A Space' draws from stories shared by Ram Dass in talks he gave in the 1980s.

The Empty Room single & video launch will be held on the evening of 22 February 2020 at The Burrow in Fitzroy. Roles are humbled to be supported at the event with sets by darkwave duo - Activities of Daily Living and goth electronic duo - SaD.

'Empty Room' is available on bandcamp and steaming services.

Roles respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land, the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nation and pays respect to their Elders, past and present.
