After weeks of online voting, international artists Ruta Dumalakaite (Lithuania), Giovanna Gaetano (Italy) and Kelly Gilleran (USA) were selected as the newest up-and-coming artists to relocate for the six month residency program. The program gives the three creatives the opportunity to do what they love in their new studios, while being supported by Redbubble's team to develop their skills and increase sales of their work. Redbubble, the largest global consumer site to have come out of Australia are taking the Artists in Residence Program global for the very first time, inviting three international artists to their head office in Melbourne.

After weeks of online voting, international artists Ruta Dumalakaite (Lithuania), Giovanna Gaetano (Italy) and Kelly Gilleran (USA) were selected as the newest up-and-coming artists to relocate for the six month residency program.

Now in its second year, this is the third and most popular Artists in Residency, with submissions from over 170 Redbubble artists, across 20 countries making it a year of tough competition.

The program gives the three creatives the opportunity to do what they love in their new studios, while being supported by Redbubble's team to develop their skills and increase sales of their work. The art works created during the residency will be showcased at the Made in House Pop-Up Shop in July 2016, and be made available online for purchase.

The company created the Redbubble Residency last year to showcase the journey, works and dedication of artists. The unique program encourages collaboration and experimentation to push the boundaries of the artist's practice, and giving artists assistance to develop their business model.

The Residency has helped raise the profile of all previous participants, alongside assisting to drive sales on the Redbubble platform. Redbubble Artists in Residence has seen an average increase of 288% in sales during their residency period.

"Each artist has their own talent, creative vision, and energy to express during the Residency. It's very rewarding for us to be able to give them a space and a platform to do that in. Following previous success, the Redbubble Residency is open up to our 350,000+ global database of independent artists. We're looking forward to celebrating and sharing the designs our newest residents create, " said Martin Hosking, Founder and CEO of Redbubble.

Redbubble is a global online marketplace powered by 350,000+ independent artists. Redbubble's community of passionate creatives sell uncommon designs (over 15 million) on high-quality, everyday products. Artists can profit from their creativity and reach a whole new universe of fans. This year Redbubble will connect artists with over 2,000,000 buyers across 180 countries.

The Made-in-House exhibition and pop-up shop will be held in Melbourne this July. Applications open for the next Redbubble Residency March 1st. For more information check out the Redubble Residency.
