RASart Exhibition of Ecellence 2018

BY Redcliffe Art Society | 12-May-2018
The RASart Exhibition of Excellence is the premier exhibition of the Redcliffe Art Society which has been held for over the past 50 years. It is a juried exhibition which is open to all members of the Redcliffe Art Society. The winner of the First Prize Overall is invited to exhibit in the annual Fifteen Artists’ Exhibition at the Redcliffe Art Gallery.
Each year, the RASart Exhibition of Excellence is proudly sponsored by the Moreton Bay Regional Council Redcliffe Art Gallery.

This year, the First Prize Overall will be awarded by the Major Sponsor, the Redcliffe Art Society Inc. The Second Prize Overall will be sponsored by Cr Koliana Winchester (Division 6 MBRC) and Cr James Houghton (Division 5 MBRC), with the Third Prize Overall sponsored by Toys Muffler and Mechanical.

The Redcliffe Art Society values all sponsors of the RASart Exhibition of Excellence as without their support, the exhibition would not be the success it has been over the past 50 years. Other sponsors of specific categories and special awards are Arthouse Northside, Luke Howarth MP, Yvette D’Ath MP, Eva Hekel, Gwynneth Boyce, Terry White Retail Group (The Bernie Shaw Memorial Award), the Whiting Family Memorial Award and the Mayor’s Choice Award.

Traditionally, a painting is raffled during the exhibition with proceeds going to the Redcliffe Art Society. This year, the raffle prize ‘What a Peach’, has been donated from the Estate of the Late Sandra Hines. Raffle tickets for the painting are available at the Redcliffe Art Gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

During the exhibition, Graham W. Smith, Master Pastellist, will present an Artist Talk ‘Fabulous Fabriano’, at the Redcliffe Art Gallery on Saturday 7 July from 2.30pm—3.30pm.

Souvenir catalogues will be on sale at the Official Opening for $5.00 each. Redcliffe Art Society members have donated the original artworks which are featured on the front page of the souvenir catalogues.
