From 21“25 January 2020 The Melba Spiegeltent and Circus Oz will be transformed into the Rainbow Families Hub, providing a safe and inclusive space for LGBTIQA+ families and allies to celebrate this Midsumma. Presented with the support of Queerspace Drummond Street, Rainbow Families Victoria and Archer Magazine, Rainbow Families Hub will host five jam-packed days of family entertainment “ craft workshops, activities, live comedy and cabaret “ designed to celebrate all families: those made, chosen and found. Come for an hour, stay for the day (or week!) “ there's lots for your family to see, do, explore, learn and share at Rainbow Families Hub this Midsumma!

Rainbow Families Hub will host five jam-packed days of family entertainment “ craft workshops, activities, live comedy and cabaret ¬“ celebrating all families: those made, chosen and found.

Featuring some of Melbourne's best family-friendly performers, artists and storytellers, the program is designed for you and your family to drop in for an hour, a morning or afternoon, or come for the whole five days and enjoy all the free and ticketed events on at The Melba Spiegeltent.

Free activities include daily storytime sessions and workshops where you can make your own family flag, item of wearable art or magazine (supported by Archer Magazine) “ all developed to encourage telling and celebrating our family stories.

Ticketed shows include: How To Be A Rockstar (Tessa Waters), Children Are Stinky (Malia Walsh), Kid-aoke (Bae Marie) and Sing-A-Long Dragtime (Frock Hudson and Miss Jay). Special events include: Rainbow Families Dance Club (All the Queens Men), Queerspawn (Maeve Marsden). Topping off the week is the brand-new circus show Over the Rainbow Cabaret, hosted by Tessa Waters.
