Shining a light on Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and culture over 10 exciting days, Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) is live from 6pm today and the whole world is invited.

Using an interactive, digital platform to deliver its 11th anniversary program of sparkling exhibitions, time-honoured events and activities, CIAF 2020 “ The Cultural Evolution, comprises live stream presentations, performances, webinars, cultural yarns, community spotlights, and virtual gallery exhibitions.
From tonight's opening ceremony program of presentations and musical performances starting at 6pm, until the finale concert at 3pm on Sunday 23 August, audiences can engage in more than 40 individual events and activities from the comfort of their own home or on the go with their favourite digital device.
As Australia's premier Art Fair and Queensland's quintessential showcase of Indigenous arts and culture, this year's digital program showcases the talent of some 300 Indigenous visual and performing artists.
Highlights include tonight's opening ceremony hosted by Elaine Crombie with musical performances from local musicians Merindi Schrieber, harpist Natalia Mann and Zennith along with the launch of three virtual exhibitions; CIAF's climate change themed Art Fair and Undercurrents “ Cook 2020, and UMI Arts' Freshwater Saltwater, with a livesteam of the opening of North Site Contemporary Arts' Billy Missi'n Wakain Thamai, a very special fashion performance showcasing Far North Queensland's stunning landscapes, Water is Sacred on Friday 21 August, the annual CIAF Art Awards (also presented by host Elaine Crombie) on Saturday 22 August and the closing ceremony on Sunday 23 August featuring the powerful sounds of Wilma Reading, Barry Cedric, Moses Warasum, Mau Power, 3-M Pride and Naomi Wenitong in a concert performance.
