Artist and illustrator Sarah Hardy has been building a name for herself as an illustrator for children and adults since she started PopcornBlue in 2010, after the birth of her third son.

Recognising a distinct lack of art for boys to dream about, Sarah set about producing a range of limited and open edition prints that are whimsical, often quirky, sometimes unusual and always dreamy with an ever changing story that unfolds before your eyes.

Shortlisted for the Arc National Drawing Prize in 2012 for her work Snail Civilisation, Sarah has also won People’s Choice Awards, and had a children’s book (Barnowlby Bubbles) published. In short, Sarah is serious about dreamy imaginative art.

Rabbits having high tea, elephants flying a zeppelin balloon, an incredible snail with a city on its back and a whale-shark’s indulgence in a Victorian bathtub are a few of the images and imaginations conjured up by Sarah’s exceptional illustrations.

The meticulous detail in Sarah’s illustrative work adds a unique quality that has been described as imagery that fascinates and delights.

“I am delighted that Melbourne’s craft and fine design market goers have embraced me,” says Sarah. “I love to spark the imagination and provide children and adults with art they can dream over”,

Through her company, PopcornBlue, Sarah produces affordable, high-quality archival prints that fit in standard frames as well as magnets, stickers and original artworks.
