Peter Stein, a leading figure in the contemporary theatre and cultural scene, founded in the early 1970s the Schaubühne company and theatre in Berlin, where presentations, now considered legendary, were held. He has worked in the most important theatres and international festivals, ranging from classical dramatics to more contemporary representations, never neglecting to fully oversee musical theatre as well. Since the mid-1980s he has chosen to reside in Italy.
In 2000, for the Expo in Hannover, he created, produced and directed "Faust", a full-scale performance of Goethe's work that, consisting of two consecutive days and alternating performance breaks, lasted a total of 21 hours for a company of 35 actors and with original music by Arturo Annecchino. "Faust Fantasia" was created from this extraordinary experience and sees Peter Stein putting himself on the scene for the first time in his long career.
