After a huge 2015 in which Papa G and The Starcats released their debut EP, a music video and a live album, the returned to the studio to lay down new grooves. Produced by Jake Mason (Cookin' On 3 Burners, Women of Soul) and Giorgio Theodoropoulos (Papa G), 'Figure You Out' is about how some men think they can play women for fools and get away with it, whilst mashing together old-school soul, gritty 70's funk and 80s yacht rock together in a way that only they could.
Papa G and The Starcats have been playing around Melbourne and packing out venues for 3 years now at heaps of iconic venues, like Ding Dong Lounge, Bar Open, The Prince of Wales, The Gasometer and The Evelyn Hotel.
After a huge 2015, the band are excited to be back in the studio and The result? Two new smashing singles, 'Figure You Out' and 'Manipulation'.
Mashing soul, funk and yacht rock, the band have produced the best work of thus far, can't wait to take over the Shadow Electric and play their new material.
