Tapas Club and Miami Marketta proudly present ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER, a pop-up exhibition event featuring Gold Coast emerging abstract and stencil artist Rill. Bringing you a colourful collection compliling two years worth of work, never before exhibited, for ONE NIGHT only as Tapas Club serves up delicious food and drinks to the smooth tunes of DJ Freddy Fly Fingers.

Rill, has been painting by commission for a number of years, filling the walls of homes, businesses and suburban streets with his vibrant and expressive colour palette. Today he is putting the finishing pieces together for his first solo show "I've been working on this collection for two years, [the paintings] get finished and put away in a room, only now are they breathing life again. I am excited to see all my pieces displayed in one room."
Rill has always been creative it seems, his mum still has the cartoons he drew when he was six and his first job was in screen printing. During the 9 years living and travelling through Europe and the Mediterranean as an adult, he started painting as a hobby. After returning home to Australia, associates stumbled across his work and made generous offers for his time and talent, he had to acknowledge that there was something about what he was creating, and began talking to galleries and producing towards an exhibition.
Many layers over several weeks make up each final image as Rill creates with stencils, acrylic paint and spray cans. The colours and sounds of his travels bumble around in his head as he works, and you can see it, there is a depth of thoughts, words and moods within each piece that you can take in when you get up close and personal with the artwork.
Rill's show 'One Thing Leads To Another' will be open to the public for one night only, Wednesday 26th October 5-9pm in Studio 56 at Miami Marketta, 23 Hillcrest Parade, Miami. Running in conjunction with Tapas Club, you can also enjoy a selection of food trucks, retail shopping, licenced bar and funky Dj tunes while you are there.
