Over eighty medical professionals and students will perform a concert for the 10th consecutive year to fund The Sydney Eisteddfod NSW Drs Orchestra Instrumental Scholarship which carries a total value of $13,000.

Founder and manager of the NSW Doctors Orchestra - Musicus Medicus, Dr Cathy Fraser, said the orchestra aims to use the universal language of music to raise money for charities in medicine and the arts.

"A lot of our players have come through the Sydney Eisteddfod and we welcome the opportunity to give back," she said.

The Scholarship endeavours to discover and encourage an outstanding instrumentalist, aged 16 to 25 years, in the fields of strings (bowed and plucked), woodwind or brass instruments. The contribution made by the orchestra and has made it possible for nine aspiring musicians to study abroad.
