Musical Society Stirs the Pot with REEFER MADNESS
The hilarious satire REEFER MADNESS is set to light up Sydney's musical theatre scene when it comes to Sydney's Depot Theatre from June 1! REEFER MADNESS is a laugh-out-loud musical satire based on the 1936 instructional film seen in American schools - originally intended to warn of the dangers of marijuana.

Writers/composers Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney took the much-mocked cult film and created an all-singing, all-dancing parody that is set to leave Sydney audiences on a high!
Rockdale Musical Society brings the brilliant show to the Depot Theatre, Marrickville - in Sydney's sinful inner west - for a limited season from 1-5 May.
The over-the-top, campy story begins with a Lecturer informing the audience of the new drug menace, Marijuana, which threatens the American way of life.
He tells the story of a young high school student, Jimmy Harper, whose life is turned upside down by the "demon weed". Jimmy spends all of his time in the Reefer Den ignoring his family, school, and most importantly his girlfriend: the quintessential all-American sweetheart, Mary Lane. He eventually realises the error of his ways; but it's too late to turn over a new leaf! Jimmy must pay the price of REEFER MADNESS!
