The Metropolitan Orchestra's (TMO) Cushion Concerts return to Balmain Town Hall on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of July. Hear birds singing, lions roaring, elephants stomping and even an unhappy Aardvark, all played by the orchestra! Join Zookeepers Sarah-Grace and Nat for this fun concert that will ignite imaginations in a kid friendly environment. Including music from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals and Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee, your children will join in the fun as they sing and dance to some of their favourite animal nursery rhymes.

Presented by animated actor Nat Jobe and conducted by TMO's Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams, each concert will excite young audiences to get up close and personal with the musicians in each highly interactive performance. Kids and families are encouraged to bring cushions and rugs to any one of the four casual morning or early afternoon sessions.

Designed by Artistic Director Sarah-Grace Williams, previously of the now defunct Sydney Opera House Babies Proms, The Metropolitan Orchestra's Family Cushion Concert series invites young audiences and their families to explore each of the instruments of the orchestra in these fun kid-focussed concerts. Each short concert (performed without interval) in the morning and early afternoon will ensure kids and parents can see, hear, engage and enjoy all of the music and musicians of the orchestra.
