Multifaceted solo artist and producer Louise Terra presents eerie new single 'Nature Calling' and announces live VR experience video premiere and intimate Melbourne single launch

Melbourne producer and songwriter Louise Terry returns with her first material in three years with sonic new track 'Nature Calling'. Over the last six years, Louise has been performing as Lemona Squeeze - alter ego vocalist in local sextet Sugar Fed Leopards, whilst quietly honing her own craft as a producer and solo artist.
Releasing a trickle of singles under her previous guise Brite Fight from 2012, and shifting to the near-namesake moniker Louise Terra in 2016, the multidisciplinary soloist has an arsenal of mesmerising material waiting patiently to be awakened. Set for release Friday 2 August, Terra is thrilled to unveil the first of four coexistent singles to be released over the next 12 months with the instantly captivating 'Nature Calling'. An extensive study into each of the elements of the natural world, chapter one's 'Nature Calling' kicks off with the element of earth and will coincide a one night only VR experience via virtual reality headsets and, a subsequent hometown single show to boot.

The first in her tetralogy of upcoming concept releases, 'Nature Calling' sees Terra sidestepping away from the sparse vocal percussion of previous singles 'Patience' and 'Waltz' and entering a new chapter of explorative and dense electronic landscapes. Using the computer as an instrument Louise Terra has birthed an alternate world of synths, beats, and eerie refrains that seem to be plucked from the most unearthly corners of the natural world. Self-produced layers of vocal hooks, pounding rhythms, and completely immersive atmospherics are as gorgeous as they are unsettling, making for a dystopian take on fantasy-pop where Terra reigns undisputed in limitless intrigue. Mixed by Timothy Johnson and mastered by Becki Whitton, with recoding by Jesse Sullivan, 'Nature Calling' is moody synth-driven electronica that journeys into the shadow-self through a decidedly sci-fi lens.

"As a rite of passage in maturing we all have to work out how to live with the light and dark parts of ourselves. Nature calling is about journeying into your psyche, to come closer to yourself. The song feels alien and unwelcoming because it's a scary venture when you have to meet your shadow self. But it's also fortifying, bringing you "...closer to the heart." - Louise Terra

Louise Terra's style of electronic dream-pop comes from a rich set of influences and a longstanding history of prolific performances across the Australian touring circuit and beyond. Singing in disco outfit Sugar Fed Leopards and one half of dark-pop duo Sawtooth, Louise Terry is a veteran of the Melbourne music scene having performed at some of the country's most beloved music festivals such as Woodford Folk, Boogie, Kyneton Music, St Kilda Festival and more. Her broad stylistic scope and acute songwriting expresses her outre perspective on human nature and a somewhat futuristic take on the existential conundrums of living in such uncertain times. Join Louise Terra as she celebrates the release of 'Nature Calling' Friday 2 August with a special virtual reality video premiere at Testing Grounds, Melbourne and then Saturday 24 August for the official single launch live show at Horse Bazaar.
