The Mortimore Prize is coming to Melbourne! The AGRA Gallery in Camberwell is hosting Australasia’s premier exhibition of Realism, the Mortimore Prize. Now entering its 7th year and worth $42,000 in prizemoney, the Mortimore Prize will be on show from the 13th to the 24th June. This year will be the first time the Mortimore has visited Victoria with Bendigo and then Melbourne to be part of this years tour. It is anticipated the visit to Melbourne will become an annual event. On show will be the awarded works, the Best in Show and the sectional winners, along with a selection of works from across the 7 genres. Featured will be Victorian painter Di King, a first time entrant and recipient of the Mortimore Prize along with the $15,000 first prize money. Among the many other artists on show will be Steve Harris, Ross Harvey, Graham Cox, Warwick Fuller, Kasey Sealy, Mike Sass NZ, Janet Matthews and Fu Hong. Past winners of the Mortimore Prize include Lucy Culliton, Ross Harvey, Barry McCann, Neil Taylor and Peter Smeeth.
