Melbourne received quite the gift when Sydney-born songstress Rhiannon Atkinson-Howatt relocated her dreamy synth-pop alter ego Merpire down south last year. Now here to stay, Merpire is making a bit of a buzz around town with the release of her latest offering Hauntways'. Gearing up for a handful of intimate live shows this March, Merpire has revealed a live, stripped back version of Hauntways' recorded with friends Kirsten Renee Hill on filming and editing, James Seymour on sound and fellow band-mate Kristie McCracken on backing vocals. Showcasing Mepire's delicate yet powerful voice and effortless delivery, the video is a testament to the ease with which Merpire draws you in and holds you in a perpetual dream-state until long after the final croon.
After touring with Ainslie Wills last year, moving to Melbourne, and acquiring a new live lineup of incredible female musicians behind her, Merpire is excited to launch Hauntways' with a pair of shows at Melbourne's Grace Darling Hotel and Waywards Live Music and Comedy Bar in Sydney this March.
