Melbourne six-piece Mangelwurzel is set to release their long-awaited debut LP Gary independently on Friday, February 26, along with latest single 'I.O.U.' and the announcement of national tour dates kicking off in their hometown at Northcote Social Club. Recorded with Liam Barton at The Bank, mixed by Stu Mackenzie (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard) and mastered by Mikey Young, the album, and their live shows will leave you scratching your head in a sick perverse pleasure and wanting more. #Mangelwurzel
"Melbourne six-piece Mangelwurzel recall cult Glaswegian indie-poppers Life Without Buildings with a Balkan brass edge. Amid the maximalist frenzy, frontwoman Cosima Jaala veered between singing styles that doubled as percussion, or great leaps that betrayed the presence of some invisible vocal cord puppeteer." - Laura Snapes"¨ - The Guardian, Pitchfork

"Mangelwurzel,a sprawling, unpredictable live act who combine space jazz, prog and 5/8 rhythms to headspinning effect." Matt Wilkinson - NME

Often likened to something, but also sounding like something else, Mangelwurzel prove this time and time again especially on new single 'I.O.U.' and the previously released album singles 'Fishy Fry', 'My House' & 'Everybody's Friend', swapping between jazz, punk, pop, psychedelic rock and everything in between.

Mangelwurzel is fast becoming renowned for their exciting and unpredictable live shows, with influences from a vast array of styles and genres, they'll take you on a psychotic journey through new wave, reminiscence to 70s krautrock noodling, followed by violent swells of post-punk noise into sonic gardens of 90s pop power ballads.

Having been privileged to support bands such as Pond, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, The Courtney's (CAN) & Tonstartssbandht (USA), have played Boogie, Camp A Low Hum (NZ), Camp Doogs, the Victorian leg of Falls Festival, Mangelwurzel are a spectacle that needs to be seen and heard to be believed.
