Coordinator Ashleigh Nicolau says "The Meet and Greet presents a great opportunity to meet others interested in the competition; this event is designed to introduce seniors to filmmakers. For seniors it opens up an alternative pathway to tell their story, if they aren't confident filming and editing themselves and for filmmakers looking to enter the competition, it is a fast track to willing participants with a melting pot of stories just waiting to be captured. A win win for everyone."

For seniors wanting to film their own submission workshops are currently taking place around Perth, check out the dates and times here:

There is also a facebook group to encourage other filmmakers to ask and answer questions.

The Life in Pictures filmmaking competition is centred on stimulating discussion about ageing, celebrating achievements of those who are ageing and diving into cultures each who have a different perspective on what it is to age.

We invite filmmakers, non-filmmakers, old and young, individuals and groups from any background and gender and everyone in between to show us your feelings by producing a 2 minute and under film on the subject of ageing in the Western Australian community.

The Life in Pictures short film competition is a creative collaboration between the Department of Communities, Revelation Perth International Film Festival and Screenwest.
