Over the first weekend in June, Lake Macquarie's local artists and makers will open their studio doors and welcome the general public inside for a behind the scenes look; giving art lovers the chance to meet artists, learn about the creative process and purchase unique artworks to take home. Featured artists work across a variety of mediums including glass, textile, sculpture and painting.

Lake Macquarie artists will offer a rare glimpse into their practice for this year's Lake Mac Open Studios program.

Taking place over the first weekend in June, a variety of amateur and professional artists, from painters to glass-smiths and sculptors, will take part in the program held across their various studios. Visitors are free to drop in anytime from 10am-4pm to meet the artists, learn about their creative process and purchase works.

Lake Mac has a proud history of producing top-quality artists. The creative community is such an important element of Lake Mac's identity and the Open Studios program is an opportunity to gain a better understanding.

People taking part in the weekend can visit any studio in any order. Information about each artist is available on the Open Studios page on Lake Macquarie City Council's website.

Lake Mac Open Studios is a COVID safe event. All artists, open studios and visitors are required to comply with the NSW Health COVID-19 guidelines in place at the time of the event.
