Boab Blues - Gouache on paper by Nadeen Lovell. 400 x 500 mm.

LOVELL GALLERY which nadeen has been operating in Kununurra for 15 years, is going adventuring. First stop ~ Melbourne, April 2013, in conjunction with fellow artist, Kimberley Kohan. Nadeen's 16 metre panorama ( oil on canvas) of the World Heritage listed Bungle Bungle, is very likely to be travelling to Melbourne as well. Her smaller 11 metre panorama visited Melbourne in 2001 and now hangs in the Perth Exhibition Convention Centre.

Nadeen is unashamedly a tradtitional realist, her belief being that the beauty, majesty, magic and fragility of remote Australia deseves attention to its detail, colour and grandeur. However, she also like variety and so works in black ink on canvas, pastel and gouache and dives into another far more contemporary style with her 'Colourscapes'. These are patiently entwined ribbons of colour, thousands of them, which result in landscapes with a different view.

Her other love and inspiration is Antartica and after two expeditions down there in the nineties, Nadeenheld an exhibition of that work in Sydney. She hopes to return there again some day soon..... Antarctica that is...and Sydney of course. Nadeen has also taught and mentored many other artists, the best of which hang in her gallery in Kununurra. Now it is time to get out from behind the curatorial desk and make a big 'Easel change'
